NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AGENCY'S

Keep Singapore Clean (Corporate Video)

Keeping Singapore clean today is much easier compared to yesteryears. Yet, in 2016, 2/3 of fines issued by NEA were directed at Singaporeans caught littering. But how hard was it for our grandparents to keep Singapore clean? We interviewed the golden generations to tell us a story about how they struggled for a cleaner, greener living condition as an eye-opener for the youngsters today to be more environmentally-conscious.

Video Concept

  • The video adopted super-imposed text style as it was growing in popularity.

  • It also made reading statistics and information at a much faster rate because heavy contents have been broken down into bite size frames.

Production Process

  • Sourcing for older Singaporeans who endured a much difficult way to dispose their waste back in the days

  • Got them to share their experiences to let younger audience know that they don't have many reasons why they shouldn't keep Singapore clean today.

  • Visited the only kampung left in Singapore - Kampung Buangkok - to see the authentic living conditions where they have bins outside their gates for collectors to collect, unlike today's flat experience to dispose rubbish through chutes.
  • Recorded ways how traditional ways of recycling were adopted to keep Singapore clean.

The video earned special mentions during the pitch to NEA on November 2017.
